[Who created God? The argument, here.]

Here is a list Richard Dawkins (Richard Dawkins because he is arguably the most famous atheist today) would be proud of. It constitutes the names of a few famous atheists and agnostics. I would love to see a list of famous people born into atheistic families who turned into believers. I have been unsuccessful in putting one together.

Interesting fact: disbelief in God and IQ and educational attainment is correlated. However, wealth, power and success is not.

Does it matter that a few arguably intellectual people have turned atheists?

Hey i m not 100% sure but Steve Jobs is either Athiest or Agnostic ..it’s a very interesting story. He was a firm believer in god and thought life to be meningless. After a small business venture failed ,he decided to go to (come to) India and seek nirvana .He went to Haridwar and met a priest .The priest shaved his head and well, took off with his money .Jobs realised how shallow and unreal all that is and went to America and a year later founded Apple.

I don’t agree with naming famous atheists. Any argument presented should stand on its own merits and not on the reputation of the people who support it.

Therefore, the poll you take is egregiously unfair. Where is the button that says “No, it does not matter to me that many intellectuals are atheist…AND I am an atheist” ? That is my button.

I didn’t intend to present an argument, in case you didn’t notice. I just put together a list of famous atheists. It has nothing to do with anything.

“Any argument presented should stand on its own merits and not on the reputation of the people who support it”. I agree very strongly with this. It’s one of the few things I agree whole-heartedly with you.

Now that you mention it, I agree that the poll is unfair. I hadn’t noticed this shortcoming. I will get to adding that option without any delay. Thanks.
